What Kind of Bearings Need Lubrication?
Bearing is the main application object of grease, and more than 85% of grease is applied to all kinds of bearings. Lubricating grease is of great significance to maintaining the good operation of bearings, reducing bearing wear, and reducing the bearing failure rate.
For bearing grease, in order to meet the flexible operation of the bearing, the soap fiber structure (i.e. thickener) of the grease should be smooth without obvious particles, so as to ensure the smooth and flexible operation of the bearing without noise. For precision bearings, it should have the following characteristics:
1. The structure is smooth and uniform without particles
2. Good colloidal stability and moderate oil separation
3. The mechanical stability is good, which can ensure that the structure of grease will not be destroyed prematurely during long-term work
4. Low mechanical impurity content, which is the main cause of noise and wear, will make the bearing vibrate due to poorly balanced operation.
Of course, it's not enough to only understand the bearings without understanding the grease. Only when the bearings and grease are combined together can they give full play to their performance!
What bearings need to be relubricated?
The service life of bearings is long, and the grease aging and loss during use lead to all kinds of bearings whose original filled grease cannot meet the application performance, such as wind turbine bearings.
The purpose of using bearing grease is to form a thin oil film between the rolling surface and sliding surface of the bearing, so as to prevent direct contact between metal and metal, reduce the internal friction and wear of the bearing, and achieve the effect of extending the service life.
Lubricating grease can also be called lubricating oil, lubricant, special lubricating oil, special lubricating grease, special lubricating grease, etc. it is mainly used to reduce mechanical friction, prolong service life, save costs, and other effects. Lubricating grease can reduce mechanical friction, prevent metal aging and prevent air leakage, oil leakage, water leakage, etc., so as to ensure the normal operation of mechanical equipment.
A well-lubricated bearing should last forever under ideal working conditions. Of course, it is impossible in fact, but if the bearing can be lubricated correctly, the bearing will have the longest working life.
Reasonable lubrication is the key factor to ensure reliable operation and prolong the service life of rolling bearings. Most failures of rolling bearings are directly or indirectly related to improper lubrication. This includes the use of inappropriate lubricants, aging lubricants, and insufficient lubrication.
